Dans un futur proche, l’humanité est condamnée. La Terre est à bout de force et la vie s’éteint sur la planète bleue. Le dernier espoir d’espèce humaine repose sur le Projet Oméga, un immense vaisseau spatial permettant de stocker le plus d’humains possibles dans l’attente d’une recolonisation.
Pendant que ses congénères dorment paisiblement en cryogénisation, un seul humain reste éveillé le temps d’une vie pour surveiller la Terre, et programmer leur retour. Un jour, dans un futur lointain, la tâche incombe à Erin de devenir cet humain. L’humain le plus important de l’univers. Sera-t-elle celle qui mènera les Hommes à nouveau sur Terre ? Ou sera-t-elle poussé à trouver une toute nouvelle solution à laquelle personne n’avait encore songé ?

I wrote this short novel on a three month period for a contest organized by a publishing house. The website where it was hosted on closed since then, so I relocated my story on Wattpad. It is only available in French. I translated the synopsis.
In a near future, Humanity is doomed. The Earth is exhausted and life on the blue planet is dying. The last hope of the human race is the Omega Project, a giant spaceship created in order to stock as much humans as possible, waiting for a new colonization.
While their peers are peacefully asleep in a cryogenic state, only one human at a time stays awake to watch the Earth and oversee Humanity’s potential return. One day, in a far away future, it’s Erin who becomes this human. The most important human in the universe. Will she be the one to guide humanity back to Earth? Or will she have to find a new solution, one that nobody thought about before?
